Winding corridors and large open spaces are more detailed, and now convey a better sense of place. I once worried that all that extra detail would make the world feel cluttered, but it doesn’t. Boletaria simply feels more lived in — and in its abandoned state, it feels all the more tragic.
With all that in mind, it’s wonderful that Bluepoint Games mostly ignored all of the newer Souls games and thoroughly nailed this remake of Demon’s Souls. Showing that From Software has to finally pull its socks up and make something new for a change. For those interested, I have a long and storied history with From Software’s various games over the years. Having played and finished every Armored Core game to date, thrashed the various Another Century’s Episode games and rinsed the likes of Metal Wolf Chaos.
Every stilted animation appears to have been replaced by three or four new ones, all of them remixed with more lifelike flourishes. Many of the original game’s points of aggravation, like long load times and frequent backtracking, have been softened or nearly eliminated. But rarely does Bluepoint muck with the foundation of Demon’s Souls, because to do so would be sacrilege. The most obvious way to use the boss’s soul is to consume it. To do this, choose the boss soul, and then use it as an regular soul.
It can also be dropped in the Inner Ward by the Imperial Spy enemy. Like most of the other Souls games, Demon’s Souls also features a multiplayer component. It allows you to either summon other players to help you fight through the monsters and bosses you face, or invade the worlds of other players to add to their woes (and they can invade yours, too). Though you’ll need a PlayStation Plus subscription to access Demon’s Souls’ multiplayer, you will still be able to see the notes other players leave to either warn you of or trick you about incoming threats.
I can’t overstate how huge this is for a game like Demon’s Souls, in which you’re expected to die over and over again and also to repeatedly reset a level for the purpose of farming. [newline]Customers praise the graphics quality of the game, describing them as absolutely beautiful, with one customer highlighting its smooth performance at 1800p 60fps. Also, if you pre-order any edition from PlayStation Store, you will receive Reaper Scythe weapon, once wielded by sorcerers who commanded the spirits of the dead. The Reaper Scythe is a pole weapon with a curved blade on one end that is so sharp that they say it can sever your soul from your body. It can mow down many targets in a single blow, but is difficult to handle and requires both strength and dexterity to use.

Other items that players should use are the Ring of Magical Sharpness and the Monk’s Head Wrap. Players level up by spending souls acquired from defeating enemies and bosses throughout the game. Leveling up is done by upgrading any of the eight stats (vitality, intelligence, endurance, strength, dexterity, magic, faith, and luck). The type of stats that the player greatly affects gameplay, as it will determine the weapons, armor, and magic that they can use, ultimately defining their playstyle as they progress through the story.
With a strength requirement of 30 and B damage scaling in that stat, it’s an excellent mid-to-late game weapon for Strength builds. Ironically enough, it’s not all that useful against the Dragon God due to the puzzle-like design of the fight. The Crescent Falchion isn’t well-suited for all builds, but it’s a must-have for anyone focusing on magic. The weapon scales very well with your Magic stat, and it allows you to passively regenerate mana while it is equipped. This extra ability is great if you are looking to use spells often either to get through an area or take down a difficult boss weak to magic damage.
In short, I am very familiar with what makes classic From Software games tick. The game is punishing enough without having to deal with some of the hardest Demon’s Souls bosses. The Kilij is one of the fastest striking weapons in Demon’s Souls, acting as a Curved Sword with a surprising amount of reach when used by your character. This weapon almost acts as a prototype to katanas but with better Durability and more customization. Even when two-handed, you can easily get three or four swings of this weapon off with some of your Stamina still intact, allowing you to still dodge roll at the end of a combo.
Before following Ostrava to the right, get into the building in front of you, at the end of the corridor you can find a Scimitar. Once you’re back, pass through the fog door to progress towards the next section. Turn around, to see a Boletaria Soldier at the end of a corridor. https://777x.center/ will throw a Firebomb blowing everything up in flames, so be patient and wait until this attack. At the lower platform, you’ll find x16 Wooden Bolt and x1 Light Crossbow.
Demon’s Souls – Playstation 5
Players have already taken advantage of the multiple filters and effects to create some truly stunning screenshots. Demon’s Souls offers many language versions which can be freely changed in the settings – it applies both to the text language and the voiceover language. Now you can move towards the big gate and through the fog, to face the boss Phalanx, you can click on its name to see strategies on how to defeat him. If there are a few Enemies left after the dragon attack, go past them and position yourself at the other end of the bridge and take them 1 by 1. The dragon will appear again and unleash his fire attack again, so if it catches you mid-bridge you will die. Before you, there is a bridge infested with Boletaria Soldiers.

Story Bosses
It had respect, to be sure, garnered through cult classic series like Armored Core and King’s Field, but these were far from the unstoppable cultural forces of something like Dark Souls. FromSoftware even suffered a handful of botched projects and flops like Ninja Blade—something that seems inconceivable in 2025, considering the company’s winning streak. But Demon’s Souls drastically transformed FromSoftware’s reputation and design philosophy, introducing the world to Hidetaka Miyazaki as a game director. It’s small by Elden Ring standards, but worth experiencing firsthand nevertheless. Demon’s Souls is a full proper remake of the first Souls game.
Most weapons must also be upgraded to level 6 to be available for transforming with a boss soul, however, some of them do not require improvements (such as the baton). A much more interesting solution for using the boss’s soul is the ability to transfer this soul to a special weapon. However, in order to do this, you must first meet Blacksmith Ed, who is located in the Stonefang tunnel – Smithing grounds (region 2-1). With him will you be able to create weapons from the souls of the bosses. However, in order for Ed to craft them for you, you must first defeat the Flamelurker boss, who is located in region 2-2.
It’s all about learning enemy patterns and learning the environments, knowing in combat when to challenge yourself with that risk and reward combat system, when to go in and attack and when to pull back and defend. And despite requests from a portion of the audience for easier difficulty options (and a vocal contingent that would be upset by such a concession) there will be no difficulty setting in Demon’s Souls on PS5, Moore confirmed. But despite several titles shedding PlayStation exclusivity, we haven’t heard much about a potential Demon’s Souls remake PC release date so far. In Demon’s Souls, a touch of smart quality of life changes and gorgeous visuals go a long way in modernizing this tough PS3 classic. Demon’s Souls Remake is a faithful reconstruction of the original game with subtle modern-day improvements. A genre-defining masterpiece, it’s one of those games that is not for everyone but should be tried by everyone.
